Teaching

Professor Logothetis is the Graduate Program Director of the UNM dental hygiene program and was director for 16 years. During her tenure has worked to develop and implement the entry-level Bachelor of Science Degree and the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Degree Program. Areas of teaching specialties include anesthesiology, medical emergencies, clinical management and administration.

Research

Professor Logothetis has published numerous articles in areas of research including sleep apnea, infection control, clinical dentistry and Local Anesthesia. She is the author of High Yield Facts in Dental Hygiene and SUCCESS! In Dental Hygiene both published by Pearson Prentice Hall. She is also the author of Local Anesthesia for the Dental Hygienist published by Elsevier Publishing.

She is an editorial and textbook reviewer of many publications including the ACCESS, Journal of Dental Hygiene, RDH, and the International Journal of Dental Hygiene.

Awards

Professor Logothetis received the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Missouri Kansas City, the Roy J. Reinhart Professional Excellence and Service Award from the University of Missouri Kansas City College of Dentistry. She has received the Teaching Excellence Award and the Excellence in Curricular Leadership award from the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine. She has also recently received the Distinguished Alumnus award from the University of New Mexico.

Service

Professor Logothetis serves on many University and National committees. She has previously served as Chair of the American Dental Education Association Allied Dental Program Directors Council, and as President of Sigma Phi Alpha.
