AEGD: Application Process

Welcome to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Thank you for your interest in this postdoctoral program. This is a relatively new program that graduated its first group of residents in June of 2005.

Application guidelines:

  • All applicants must hold a D.D.S., D.M.D. or the equivalent degree from a U.S. or Canadian accredited dental school, prior to admissions to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency Program.
  • Prospective candidates are invited to download an application from the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS)* site. Your material must be submitted by November 15. Late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Applicants are required to have a degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school in order to apply to the AEGD residency program.


*PASS--Applicants are asked to read the information on the program and complete the special PASS form available at www.adea.org/pass. This service is available to all individuals applying to postdoctoral dental education programs participating in the application service. PASS simplifies the application process by providing on standardized format, relieving applicants of the need to complete multiple applications. Dental programs benefit by receiving uniform information on all applicants.
